GIS Specialist – Offshore renewables

Our UK Offshore Wind Development Team is responsible for the preliminary design and planning consents for new projects. Having delivered the UK’s first major offshore wind farm at North Hoyle, our team is now working on a portfolio of projects including Gwynt y Môr ( key Welsh clean energy project) Triton Knoll (the largest of the UK’s Round 2 offshore wind farms) and preparation for Round 3 – the next generation of UK offshore wind farms. This is an exciting opportunity to join this dedicated team and help us achieve our goals.
Providing GIS and data management support, you will create and modify charts, maps and figures for discussions, presentations, publications and project design purposes. Responsible for the assessment and manipulation of turbine layouts as well as their visual representations, you will also undertake the spatial analysis of environmental and human features data - both onshore and in the marine environment. Other elements of the role include: supporting the management of offshore department data, potentially including the maintenance and use of geodatabases and the updating of metadata. With relevant experience and qualifications in the use, establishment and operation of GIS systems (preferably ArcGIS), you will also have excellent organisational and communication skills. Some experience in data audit would also be beneficial.
