Job Title: Subsurface Manager
Description
Driven by continued growth, our client a leading international Exploration and Production company is seeking to expand its cadre of subsurface managers to provide leadership of a high-profile multidisciplinary subsurface team tasked with creating, evaluating, building and operating a high value portfolio of acreage and projects.
 
Key Accountabilities
 
Leading a high profile multidisciplinary, multicultural team of subsurface, engineering, commercial and support staff activities will include:
  • Provision of visible leadership for in-country subsurface asset team
  • Search for and evaluate growth opportunities to support asset growth strategy
  • Carrying out technical and commercial evaluations of open and held acreage
  • Creation of upstream asset strategy
  • Creation and maintenance of asset prospective resource inventory and effective management of discovered reserves in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Managing exploration activities on existing held acreage
  • Managing appraisal and development activities on existing held acreage
  • HSSE leadership for subsurface functions
  • Responsible for subsurface functional excellence in asset
  • Supervise and integrate the multidisciplinary team in order to make a coherent request for approval of projects and funding
  • Monitor and control the asset budget
  • Manage external influential relationships and interact with senior personnel within:- National Oil Company if relevant, Energy Ministry JV Partner Companies , Other relevant country bodies
 
The successful candidate will be expected to play an active role as a member of our client's cadre of subsurface managers. It is likely that the successful candidate will have a significant technical track record in a sub-surface technical discipline. In addition, they will have a proven track record in managing operated exploration and development projects; they will have worked in several basins and in different cultural environments.
 
They will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of subsurface workflows, including modern prospect evaluation and economic tools. Experience of delivering change programmes and leadership of business focussed performance improvement initiatives will be evident in their career to date.
 
The successful candidate is likely to be a highly motivated individual who ultimately aspires to broader asset management or functional management roles.
