| British Energy is a FTSE 100 company and is the UK’s largest generator of electricity supplying more than one-sixth of the nation’s needs It is the lowest carbon emitter of the major UK generators With a clear focus on safe dependable energy generation and an ethos of service excellence we pride ourselves on delivering far more than just power The Supply Chain organisation within British Energy is working pro-actively with internal customers and the supply market to deliver challenging corporate goals through professional strategic procurement It is a dynamic and pressured environment within which a vacancy has arisen for a Supply Chain Regional Lead to drive the supply chain aspects of the capital investment programme for a number of our nuclear power stations Key responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing appropriate commercial strategies and the contract frameworks for major capital procurement projects and should have a proven track record of delivering procurement solutions in an engineering or projects environment In addition they must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of best commercial practises As well as being responsible for the establishment of commercial contracts the successful candidate will need to possess excellent inter personal skills in order to develop sound working relationships with key internal customers other stakeholders and suppliers Essential attributes/qualifications/experience This role requires a target focused and highly motivated supply chain professional who is demonstrably capable of ensuring high performance in their project portfolio through teamwork and the development of relationships Ideally the successful candidate will be degree qualified with a relevant professional qualification and significant relevant experience in capital or engineering projects procurement They will also be able to communicate and network at all organisational levels and possess good leadership qualities Knowledge of British Energy’s Company philosophy standards and procedures is also desirable |
