Coal Seam Gas Play Analyst - ER5737
Santos' and PETRONAS' $7.7 billion Gladstone LNG project (GLNG) will be the world's first project to process coal seam gas into liquefied natural gas, as a cleaner energy source. GLNG involves exploration and production of coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen Basins, a 425 km gas pipeline from the gas fields to Gladstone, and a gas liquefaction and export facility on Curtis Island. Santos is also undertaking an exploration program for coal seam gas in the Gunnedah Basin through its interest in a number of petroleum exploration licences in the area. The area takes in the districts around Gunnedah, Coonabarabran, Scone, Quirindi and Boggabri.
We require a CSG Play Analyst who will:
- Conduct evaluations of the potential of coal bearing basins principally, but not limited to, Australian East Coast basins.
- Identify key play elements and risks for highgraded CSG plays
- Recommend work programs to address the potential of new plays or areas.
- Conduct or supervise geoscientific evaluations of New Venture opportunities, including Land Releases.
- Conduct or supervise exploration activities in Queensland exploration (non-GLNG) and other East Coast permits as appropriate.
- Track competitor drilling activities and results.
- Evaluate long term geoscientific research and development (R&D) requirements and involvement in proposed projects.
- Other duties as requested by Manager - CSG Growth or Manager - CSG Assets.
