Planning & Licensing Executive – EfW
Our client is a leading UK Energy from Waste developer, builder and operator. They have ambitious plans to build and operate 12 ‘small scale’ (c120,000 tonnes per year) Energy recovery Facilities, utilising Energos gasification technology.
Due to continued growth and planned expansion out client is now looking to recruit a Planning & Licensing Executive – EfW to join their team based in Lancashire. This role is focused on our client’s development stage, which includes the management of the planning and licensing process in respect of specifically identified EfW plant projects, including the supervision of the EIA process.
The successful candidate will take on the role of Planning & Licensing Executive and will have to liaise with both local authorities and communities as well as manage their planning and EIA consultants. It would be helpful, though not essential, that the candidate has some understanding of Gasification Technology and waste management. Additional experience of the PPC permitting process would also be helpful.
Candidates will possess:
•Some Renewable energy and / or environmental industry experience.
•Degree preferably in planning surveying or an environmental discipline.
•Competent at managing the EIA and planning application process, including scoping, project reporting and cost management.
•A knowledge of specialist technical area such as Gasification Technology / Advanced Conversion
Technology, land contamination, Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) or Civil Engineering Environmental Quality Assessment & Award Scheme (CEEQUAL) would also be an advantage.
•Assistance with business development and the identification of opportunities.
•Excellent communication & interpersonal skills together with enthusiasm and a positive ‘can do’ attitude are essential for this role.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Project management or a similar project management software
programme.
Our client is an equal opportunities employer, who will offer a very competitive package of £40-£48k, depending on experience, car allowance, private health care and bonus scheme (up to 25% of salary) and share options after an initial 3 month probationary period.
The role of Planning & Licensing Executive is based at our client’s offices in Lancashire, though the candidate would be required to travel across the UK and Northern Ireland.
