Power Technical Consultant

Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham  
 
Our client is a large and well established engineering consultancy with offices throughout the UK with projects in the fields of process, water, metals, nuclear and energy.
 
Due to continued planned growth of the nuclear division our client is now looking to recruit a Power Technical Consultant on a staff basis to join their team based in Stockton , County Durham .  The successful candidate’s role will be:
 
- To apply expertise to provide specialist input to projects, including where relevant leading the input of other engineers, to ensure engineering delivery meets scope, time, cost and quality.
- Apply expertise to generate innovative and / or technically differentiated solutions to problems, to deliver added value for clients and a commercial edge to the company.
 - Check and approve the work of more junior staff to eliminate errors and sub-optimal work.
 - Establish and maintain technical standards to support quality engineering delivery
 - Provide functional support and guidance to more junior staff to develop both them as individuals and the capability of the team as a whole
 - Maintain own knowledge of new technologies and equipment advances, and disseminate such information as appropriate within the group such that the company maintains and enhances its ability to deliver for clients
 
Candidates wishing to apply for this role must be/have:  
 

·         Professionally qualified (eg Chartered) Engineer.

·         Substantial relevant experience.

·         Relevant Power industry experience

·         Expert technical skills

·         Basic project management skills
