Our client is a large and well established engineering consultancy with offices throughout the
UK
with projects in the fields of process, water, metals, nuclear and energy.
Due to continued planned growth of the nuclear division our client is now looking to recruit a Instrumentation & Control Engineer on a staff basis to join their team based in
Whitehaven
,
Cumbria
. The successful candidate's role will be to lead functional input to small projects, or carry out engineering tasks as part of a large project team.
Responsibilities will include:
* Plan and prioritise your own work to ensure that functional project requirements on scope, cost and time are met.
* Produce engineering calculations, and check the work of more junior engineers.
* To ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained.
* Carry out commissioning activities at client site as required, to ensure successful engineering handover.
* Specify and procure equipment to meet requirements.
* Recognise and address potential and actual cross-discipline issues and conflicts so that overall engineering input to a project is coherent
* Develop own engineering experience and skills, moving towards the capability to move to a more senior role and towards professional qualification.
Essential skills, experience & qualifications:
* Instrumentation & Control Engineering Degree
* Significant experience within the nuclear industry
* Substantial relevant experience in relevant project design work, is required to fully perform the role; however less experienced individuals may be trained up within the role, under close supervision
