Redpoint is a growing and dynamic specialised energy consultancy based in London. The company was formed in 2004, although many of our consulting team have been advising clients in the European energy sector since the early 1990’s.
Our key areas of focus are investment advice, risk and portfolio strategy formation, and energy policy. Central to all this is our deep understanding of European gas, power and carbon markets and our ability to bring cutting edge modeling techniques to bear in understanding the future behaviour of these markets, and the risks they present, at a detailed level. Examples of our work include company valuations for mergers and acquisitions, optimising portfolios from fuel contracting to generation dispatch, developing sourcing strategies for vertically integrated energy companies, and advising government on the costs and benefits of different future energy policy options.
You will have excellent analytical skills, and be adept at data handling and modeling techniques. You will be fascinated and excited by energy markets, full of initiative, and keen to be involved in growing a small, dynamic company. You will work well as part of a team, be flexible and adaptable, and be keen to work with clients, often on-site at locations in the UK and across Europe. You will be looking forward to helping clients innovate in energy markets, and understand the rapidly changing regulatory and commercial environments. You will be using your skills in developing and applying techniques for solving problems in asset and contract valuation and optimisation, risk management, and regulation.
We are currently recruiting for Associate positions to join our team. As an Associate you will have a BSc (or equivalent) degree in engineering, the sciences, economics, or another analytical discipline, and you may have either an advanced degree or 1-2 years of subsequent work experience. You will be engaged in market analysis, database development, research and modeling work, as well as preparing workshops, presentations and reports. You will have a high level of client interaction, often on-site. Fluency in a European language (particularly Polish) in addition to English will be an advantage.
Please include a cover letter with your application outlining why you are interested in joining Redpoint.
The closing date for applications is 31st October 2008. |
